Bison Women's Tennis Falls to Seton Hall, 4-3

ORLANDO, Fla. - In its second match during their Spring Break trip in Orlando, Fla., the Bucknell women's tennis team was defeated by Seton Hall, 4-3. With the loss the Bison are now 1-1 on their trip and 2-5 on the season. The Pirates move to 4-6 through their first 10 matches of the year.
The women struggled to keep the momentum from yesterday's charged win over Long Island as all three Bison doubles partners were beat Tuesday afternoon.
The No. 3 doubles match provided a ray of hope before heading into the singles matches. Partners Alyssa McAndrew and Dumitrita Iepuras battled Anna Guryanova and Maria Rodriguez before ultimately falling 8-7 (8-6).
Senior Courtney Casey won her match to close in on the No. 25 spot on the all-time victories list at Bucknell. With her 6-4, 7-6 singles victory over Rocío Portela, she is now one win away from being tied for the 25th slot in the rankings with a record of 58-64.
Doubles partners Elena Vidrascu and Lydia Colvin both bounced-back from the earlier doubles loss to win their singles matches over foes Elizabeth Verow and Madison Shoemaker. Vidrascu won her No. 3 singles match over Verow by the score of 7-6 (3), 6-1 and Colvin beat out Shoemaker 7-5, 6-4.
The Bison will look to rebound from today's loss Thursday, when they take on NJIT (12-2) at 11:30 a.m. in the Lake Cane Tennis Center and Quinnipiac (2-4) at 6:30 p.m. in Sanlando Park.
