LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell men's cross country placed a total of 11 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league announced on Wednesday. The Bison were led by Dan Dillon (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane), who posted a perfect grade-point average of 4.0 in the fall semester.
With 11 selections, Bucknell tied with Lehigh for second in the Patriot League in terms of total honorees. Only Navy had more with 12. The Patriot League recognized a total of 72 men's cross country student-athletes for their academic success during the fall semester, and six of them posted a 4.00 GPA or better.
Dillon, who also made the honor roll last fall with a 4.0 GPA, was recognized during the cross country season by being voted to the Academic All-Patriot League Team as well. The team was added for all sports beginning in the 2010-11 season to honor additional student-athletes who have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and are a starter or a key reserve. Award winners were determined by a vote of the league's sports information directors who cannot vote for their own student-athletes.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must achieve a 3.2 grade-point average in the fall semester.
