Tickets for December 17th Bucknell-Oklahoma State Wrestling Match On Sale Now

LEWISBURG, Pa. –The Bucknell wrestling team will open its 2012-13 home schedule Dec. 17 against one of the premier programs in the nation when it hosts 34-time national champion Oklahoma State. Tickets for the highly anticipated match are on sale now. Fans wishing to purchase tickets can call the Campus Box Office at 570-577-1000 or visit its website, www.bucknell.edu/boxoffice.
Tickets for the dual are $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens (62 and older) and $3 for children (18 and under). Bucknell faculty, staff and students with a valid ID will be admitted free. All seating will be general admission. Sojka Pavilion doors will open one hour before the 7 p.m. match.
Special group pricing is available with advance purchase through Dec. 10. A group of 10 or more can purchase tickets at the following rates: adults ($3), senior citizens ($2) and children ($2).
This will be the fourth time Bucknell has hosted a premier wrestling event at Sojka Pavilion, which typically serves as the school's primary basketball facility. The Bison hosted Iowa and Rutgers in a tri-meet in November 2009, the EIWA Championships in March 2011 and Nebraska last November. Bucknell is 1-2 all-time in Sojka Pavilion.
Oklahoma State, which is led by two-time NWCA National Coach of the Year and 1988 and 1992 Olympic gold medalist John Smith, enters the 2012-13 season coming off a sixth-place finish in the team standings at the 2012 NCAA Championship. The Cowboys, who were 17-1 in dual matches last year, had three wrestlers earn All-America honors. Oklahoma State wrestlers have earned a total of 428 All-America certificates in 82 years.
Mid-December will be a busy stretch against quality opponents for Bucknell. The Bison will wrestle 23-time national champion Iowa Dec. 16 at Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of the Grapple at the Garden.
The Bison will wrestle at home six times other than the Oklahoma State match. The other home dates, including a Feb. 22 meeting with conference rival Lehigh, will take place in Davis Gym. All home events in Davis Gym will feature free admission.
