Bucknell Track & Field Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Although their season ended nearly three months ago, Bucknell men's and women's track and field claimed another set of honors, each being named an All-Academic Track and Field Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week. The men's squad posted a team grade point average of 3.17, while the women finished with a 3.40 GPA.
A total of 90 Division I men's programs were recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams this year. To be nominated, the squad must carry a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Bucknell was one of four Patriot League institutions to receive the honor along with Colgate, Lafayette and Army. Brigham Young University and Florida State were recognized as the Scholar Teams of the Year.
On the women's side, 164 Division I programs earned All-Academic honors. Lafayette and Lehigh were the only two other Patriot League institutions to be recognized, while Texas and Oklahoma were the Scholar Teams of the Year.
Earlier this year, both Bison squads led the Patriot League in Academic Honor Roll selections. The men finished with 44 honorees, while the women had 58. Among those named to the inaugural Academic All-Patriot League Team were Robert Arent, John Picardo, Sarah Bella, Kristin Bretscher and Caroline Tolli during the indoor season as well as Arent, Jordan Donaldson, Picardo, Luke Webster, Bretscher, Kelly Grosskurth, Jamie Leacock and Sarah Moniz outdoors.
