Bucknell Baseball Heads to Holy Cross for First of Three Straight Patriot League Road Weekends

LEWISBURG, Pa. – After playing nine of its last 11 games at Depew Field, the Bucknell baseball team will hit the road this weekend for the first of three consecutive road Patriot League series. The Bison will play doubleheaders at Holy Cross on both Saturday and Sunday. The last time Bucknell was at the Crusaders' Fitton Field, it was winning the best-of-three Patriot League Championship Series, claiming its second postseason crown in three years.

Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 3 p.m., while Sunday's is slated for a noon start.
Bucknell Baseball Notebook (12-17, 1-3 PL)
• Bucknell and Holy Cross both played Marist in their last game prior to this weekend's series. The Bison faced the Red Foxes on Tuesday at Depew Field, while the Crusaders played them Wednesday on the road at McCann Field.
• David Duffett, who was 2-for-2 Tuesday vs. Marist, enters the weekend on a team-best six-game hitting streak. He is 9-for-23 (.391) during the streak and has three consecutive two-hit outings. His average has gone from .237 to .283, placing him fourth on the team.
• Gerry Runyan continues to lead the Bison in hitting with a .340 average. He is 6-for-13 with three doubles and five RBIs over the last four games. Runyan's 11 multi-hit games lead the team.

Saturday Game 1: RHP Dylan Seeley (1-4, 5.87 ERA, 21K) vs. LHP John Pedrotty (4-2, 3.93 ERA, 30K)
Saturday Game 2: LHP Ryan Ebner (4-1, 4.58 ERA, 26K) vs. RHP Matt Croglio (2-3, 5.46 ERA, 18K)
Sunday Game 1: RHP Trey Frahler (1-5, 4.65 ERA, 24K) vs. LHP Nate Koneski (2-4, 6.61 ERA, 35K)
Sunday Game 2: RHP Jack Boehm (2-1, 3.90 ERA, 22K) vs. RHP Vaughn Hayward (0-1, 9.95 ERA, 9K)
• Ryan Ebner has been Bucknell's top starting pitcher throughout the season, going 4.1 with a 4.58 ERA in 35.1 innings. He had a 22.0 scoreless inning streak halted in his last outing, but started a new streak and has not allowed a run in his last 6.1 innings. He has yielded just two runs overall in his last 28.1 innings. Ebner has allowed just 18 hits, six runs and struck out 24 over his last five appearances (33.0 IP), all Bison wins.
• Ebner has earned the win in seven of Bucknell's last 15 victories, dating back to last year's Patriot League Tournament.
• 2010 All-Patriot League selection Dylan Seeley has yielded 16 earned runs and has a 4.04 ERA over his last six outings. His 14 career wins rank tied for ninth in program history, while his 241.0 innings are fifth and his 42 starts are first.
• A total of 48 runs have been scored in Trey Frahler's six starts. The Bison have scored 19 and opponents have tallied 29. Frahler is 1-5 with a solid 4.65 ERA and 24 strikeouts and has limited opponents to three or fewer earned runs in four of his six outings. He enters the weekend with 144 career strikeouts, placing him one shy of 10th place in the Bison record books.
• Jack Boehm leads the Bison with a 3.90 ERA. He recently had four straight starts (22.2 IP) where he did not allow more than one earned run. He has struck out 16 over his last three starts (18.0 IP).
• Alex Cillo brings a 14.2-inning streak without allowing an earned run into this weekend's series. His ERA stands at a career-best 4.15 in 10 appearances.
• Bucknell, in 2010, was 12-17 through 29 games. The Bison went on to win the Patriot League Tournament and earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament. This is the third straight year Bucknell has been 12-17 after 29 games.
• The final game of this weekend's series will be the 2,600th contest in the history of the Bucknell baseball program. The Bison are 1,195-1,382-19 all-time since the program started in 1886.
• Senior first baseman Doug Shribman ranks in the top 10 in program history in a number of offensive categories: batting average (t-9th, .342), slugging percentage (2nd, .661), on-base percentage (8th, .432), at bats (t-10th, 489), hits (10th, 167), doubles (t-3rd, 40), home runs (1st, 36), RBIs (t-4th, 128), total bases (3rd, 323) and walks (t-10th, 62).
