About Bucknell
Bucknell (4-10, 0-4 EIWA), which recently had a stretch where it wrestled seven duals in a 17-day span, is now in the middle of a quieter time where it will compete just twice in a 17-day period. The Bison enter Friday's home dual with regional foe Lock Haven looking to snap a two-match losing streak. With four duals remaining before the end of the regular season, Bucknell can still finish with an 8-10 record this season. Kevin LeValley, who remains sixth at 149 pounds, is still the Bison's only nationally ranked wrestler this week.
About Lock Haven
Lock Haven enters Friday's match with a 5-8 overall record, including 1-3 against Eastern Wrestling League foes. The Bald Eagles have lost three of their last four duals and are coming off a 33-5 home loss to West Virginia last Saturday. Matt Bonson and Harry Turner, who have combined for 40 wins this year, picked up victories in that match.

Returning Wrestlers
Bucknell and Lock Haven faced each other last February, but just 10 of the 19 wrestlers that competed are in Friday's projected starting lineups. For Bucknell, seniors Jay Hahn, Brantley Hooks, Kevin LeValley and Rob Waltko, as well as sophomore Joe McMullan, return. For the Bald Eagles, Nick Hyatt, John Trumbetti, Seth Creasy, Derek Caldwell and Harry Turner return. The Bison's LeValley, Hooks and Hahn were winners last year, while Hyatt earned a forfeit win at 125 pounds, marking Lock Haven's only returning winner.
Only EIWA Matches Remain
Friday's match vs. Lock Haven marks Bucknell's final non-conference competition of the year. The Bison will face EIWA foes Army, Brown and American in the upcoming weeks as the regular season winds down. Bucknell is 0-4 against EIWA competition, one year after posting a perfect 6-0 league mark.
Home Success
Bucknell is 22-9 at Davis Gym since the program was reinstated prior to 2006-07. The Bison are 11-4 in their last 15 home bouts inside Davis Gym.
Starting Lineups
Bucknell has used 10 different starting lineups in its 14 dual matches this year. The Bison used the same lineup in each of their first four duals, but followed that with a different lineup each of their next nine outings. For the first time since Nov. 28 and Dec. 3, Bucknell has wrestled the same lineup each of the last two matches.
Consistent Starters
While Bucknell has used 10 different starting lineups, four Bison have been in the lineup in all 14 duals. Derek Reber (125), Kevin LeValley (149), Corey Lear (165) and Jay Hahn (197) have started every match. That quartet has combined to go 37-19 in duals. The rest of the team is a combined 25-57.
No Forfeits
After forfeiting at 133 pounds two of the last three matches, and four times overall this season, Bucknell is expected to have freshman 133-pounder Alex Pellicciotti in its lineup Friday against Lock Haven. The Boyertown, Pa., native is 6-8 this year and will be making seeing his first action since Jan. 15 against Maryland.
Winning Streaks
Two projected Bison starters enter Friday's match on winning streaks. Senior Kevin LeValley (149) has won four straight bouts for bonus points, while classmate Brantley Hooks (157) has claimed three in a row. LeValley is now 22-1 this year and he ranks third on the program's all-time wins list with 115 career victories. Hooks is 15-9 this season and his 81 career victories place him in a tie for 11th place with Bryan Burns in program history.
Senior Class Leads the Way
Bucknell's five-person senior class (Jay Hahn, Brantley Hooks, Kevin LeValley, Scott Sechler, Rob Waltko) has been strong this year. The five veterans have combined for a 79-42 mark with four of them already in double figures in victories. The rest of the team is a combined 122-154.
Career Wins Record on Horizon for LeValley
Thanks to a 22-1 record this year, senior 149-pounder Kevin LeValley has improved his career mark to 115-38 (.752). He is now third on Bucknell's career wins list, just six behind Andy Rendos' one-year-old program record. With wins in each of the final four duals, LeValley will move into second place, one spot ahead of Bobby Ferraro, who is currently in second with 118 career victories.
Wirnsberger Second on Wins List
Bucknell head coach Dan Wirnsberger has guided the Bison to a 48-45-2 record over the last five years. He now ranks second on the Bucknell all-time wins list, trailing only longtime Bison mentor Bobby Ferraro, who posted a 169-175-6 mark from 1974-97. On a career level, Wirnsberger is just one victory shy of 75 (74-67-2).
Bucknell vs. Ranked Opponents
Bison head coach Dan Wirnsberger has certainly challenged his team this year. Bucknell has already faced six ranked opponents and it still has current No. 11 American on the schedule later this month. The Bison have faced 25 ranked opponents since the beginning of the 2006-07 campaign.
2011 EIWA Championships
Bucknell's Sojka Pavilion will host the 107th EIWA Championships March 5-6. It is the first time the Bison will be the host school for the prestigious event. It will be the second wrestling competition to ever be held in the eight-year-old Sojka Pavilion, Bucknell's primary basketball venue. The Bison hosted 23-time NCAA champion Iowa and Rutgers in the facility in November 2009.
Bison Vision to Broadcast EIWA Championships
Fans that can't make it to Sojka Pavilion for the EIWA Championships will have the opportunity to watch the event live through Bison Vision on BucknellBison.com. A small subscription fee will apply.
Up Next
Bucknell will close out the home portion of its dual schedule next Thursday, Feb. 10, when it hosts EIWA foe Army in Davis Gym. The 7 p.m. match will be broadcast live on Bison Vision. Prior to competition, six Bison seniors will be honored during Senior Day ceremonies. Seniors Jay Hahn, Brantley Hooks, Kevin LeValley, Scott Sechler and Rob Waltko, along with junior David Thompson, who is in his fourth year with the program, will be recognized.
