BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Led by All-Patriot League selections Caroline Tolli, Stephanie Fulmer and Emily Liggett, the Bucknell women's cross country team placed second at the Patriot League Championships, held Saturday morning at Lehigh. The Bison finished in the runner-up position, just three points (53-56) behind Navy.
Tolli was the top Bison finisher, crossing the line fifth in 22 minutes, 38.50 seconds, while Fulmer was just two spots behind in 22:40.60. It was the fourth career All-Patriot League honor for Fulmer, who became just the third person in school history to accomplish that feat.
Liggett rounded out the All-Patriot League selections as she finished 11th in the 84-runner field.
Bucknell, which has finished second two straight years and has seven consecutive top-two showings, had seven of the top 23 runners.
"Our women handled the snowy conditions with a lot of toughness and nearly pulled off the upset," praised Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner.
Navy's Jess Palacio won the individual title, while the Mids collected their first league crown since 2008.
Next up on the Bison schedule is the Mid-Atlantic Championships Nov. 12.
