LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell men's cross country's Chris Sacks (Pound Ridge, N.Y./Fox Lane) was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday, giving him his second such honor this season. Sacks was the second Bison and the top freshman finisher overall at the Duquesne Tri-Meet last Saturday.
Sacks completed the eight-kilometer course at Duquesne's Schenley Park in a time of 25 minutes, 57 seconds. The mark placed him ninth overall, helping Bucknell to a runner-up finish as a team. Sacks was also the first rookie from any team to cross the line.
Sacks was selected as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Sept. 7 as well after winning the Bucknell Open, which was his first collegiate meet. He now has earned two of the three rookie honors awarded by the league this season.
Bucknell finished second at the Duquesne Tri-Meet last Saturday behind the Dukes and ahead of Pittsburgh. The Bison will race again on Friday, Oct. 1 at Lehigh's Paul Short Memorial Invitational. Races in Bethlehem, Pa., start at 10 a.m.
