PRINCETON, N.J. - Bucknell track and field's Sarah Moniz (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet Regional) and Andrew Huebner (Hampton Falls, N.H./Governor Dummer Academy) set program top-10 marks in their respective events to help the Bison get off on the right foot at the ECAC and IC4A Championships at Princeton on Friday. Moniz recorded the second-fastest time in Bucknell history in the 5000 meters, while Huebner placed fourth overall in the 3000-meter steeplechase, posting the third-fastest mark all-time at the university.
Moniz took 12th in the event, crossing the line in 17 minutes, 3.74 seconds. The finish marks the third time this season that the Bison junior has posted the second-fastest time in program history in an event. Moniz also ranks second in the 1500 meters (4:29.63) and the 3000 meters (9:41.15).
Huebner earned All-IC4A honors with his fourth-place finish in the steeplechase. He bettered his previous personal best in the event by eight seconds, finishing in 8:52.63. It was the first time the senior had broken the nine-minute mark.
Also competing on the meet's first day was Rebecca Misko (Morristown, N.J./Madison) in the discus. The sophomore took 11th place in her first career ECAC Championships, throwing 138 feet.
