Bucknell Women's Rowing Wins Six Medals at New England/Mid-Atlantic Regional

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (Cooper River) – One week after winning its fifth consecutive Patriot League title on the Cooper River, the Bucknell women's rowing team returned and claimed the team crown at the New England/Mid-Atlantic Regional. The Bison had a total of six boats medal in the four contested events.
Bucknell boats claimed first in all four grand finals, winning the varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four and novice eight. Bison crews also took third in the second varsity eight and varsity four grand finals for a total of six medal-winning boats.
Each of Bucknell's winning boats also posted victories in their heats, and each of those boats rowed faster in the grand finals than in the heats.
Bucknell has now won the team title at the event three of the last four years.
Especially impressive among the victories was the varsity eight avenging an early season lost to Rhode Island. The Bison lost to the Rams last month by less than a second, but bounced back and defeated the third-place Rhode Island boat by more than three seconds on Saturday.
Patriot League rival Navy also competed on Saturday and posted two seconds and a fifth in the grand finals.
