Bucknell Women's Rowing Places Seven on All-Patriot League Teams

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Two days after claiming its fifth consecutive Patriot League title, the Bucknell women's rowing team received some more good news on Wednesday when seven of its members were named All-Patriot League. First-team selections included seniors Olivia Knodt (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Pointe) and Mary Wilson (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West), junior Victoria Dudley (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) and sophomore Jillian O'Mara (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainbridge), who were all part of the varsity eight. Junior Christina Cabiati (Arlington, Va./Washington-Lee) and seniors Elizabeth Regan (Smithtown, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and Kerry Sullivan (Redding, Conn./Mercy), who were members of the second varsity eight, were second-team selections.
Each of the league-high seven honorees helped her boat to victory on Sunday on the Cooper River as the varsity eight finished first by more than two seconds over Navy, clinching the team title. The second varsity eight won its race by nearly 10 seconds over the Mids, the widest margin in Patriot League Championships history.
All seven of Bucknell's All-League selections were recognized for the first time. The Bison had four All-Patriot League rowers each of the last four years.
The varsity eight was named Patriot League Boat of the Year for the fifth straight year.
In addition to the All-Patriot League honors, Bucknell head coach Stephen Kish earned his fourth Patriot League Coach of the Year award for guiding the Bison to the title and a record-breaking 35 team points. Kish has been named Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, 2009 and now 2010.
Bucknell will be back in action this Saturday, May 1, at the New England/Mid-Atlantic Regional. The event will take place on the Cooper River, the same body of water on which the Patriot League Championships took place.
