LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Backed by a Patriot League championship in women's indoor track and field and three second-place finishes, Bucknell widened its lead in the Presidents' Cup race through the end of the winter season. The Bison now have 73 points, eight better than second-place Lehigh and 12 ahead of third-place Navy. Bucknell also has the lead in both the Men's and Women's Cup standings.
Bucknell, which is aiming for its 16th Presidents' Cup in the 20-year history of the league, received 35 points from its six winter programs. In addition to the women's indoor track and field title, the men's indoor track and field team and the men's and women's swimming and diving team all took second place, and the men's basketball team finished in second place in the regular season.
Presidents' Cup points are awarded based on a team's performance in the regular-season and postseason PL standings.
