Now that the season is underway the team has a whole different feeling. We prepare from September until mid February to finally get to this point. We practice for months and the season feels so far away, but finally it is here! We started off the season with a tough match against Penn State. Although we got behind early, we played a strong second half as we improved on all ends of the field from defense, to transition, to executing better on offense.
Last Sunday brought some great weather for February in Lewisburg and a particularly exciting win for us. Down three goals at halftime, we were able to pull it together as a team and have a great second half. We really excelled on both ends of the field as we began to work as a unit. With a thrilling last-second goal from one of our freshman, Paige Cobbs, off an 8-meter, we won the game. It was awesome seeing the team work together to come back from behind and finish really strong.
As we head into March everyone is starting to see Patriot League games in sight. These games are what our main focus is on as we look to reach our goal of a Patriot League Championship. As the weeks go on we hope to improve and build upon aspects of our game as we look forward to our first Patriot League win this season against Lehigh in a few short weeks.
