STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Bucknell women's golf team could not quite recapture its record-setting performance from Saturday afternoon, shooting 320 in the final round of the Nittany Lion Invitational on Sunday. Katie Jurenovich and Minjoo Lee led the team with 78s, and the Bison finished in 10th place.
In the second round a day earlier, a school-record 69 from Bridget Wilcox helped Bucknell match its team-record score of 296. But sandwiched around that strong performance were rounds of 321 and 320. That left the Bison with a 54-hole total of 937, one back of Akron and College of Charleston. Host Penn State shot 901 and won the event by nine over Western Michigan.
Wilcox followed up her 3-under-par 69 with an 81 on Sunday, but she was still Bucknell's top finisher 229, good for a tie for 16th place. Jurenovich shot 78-76-78 and was the only Bison with three rounds in the 70s. Also on Sunday, Lauren Bernard, who shot 74 in the second round, posted an 83, and Kasha Scott finished with an 85.
Fabia Rothenfluh of third-place Rollins won the individual title at 2-over for the tournament.
The Bison are back in action on Oct. 11-12 at the Zippy Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
