
Bucknell Men's Water Polo Falls to No. 18 Navy, 9-4

LEWISBURG, Pa. - No. 18 Navy scored the first five goals of the game en route to a 9-4 victory over Bucknell in Collegiate Water Polo Association action Saturday at Kinney Natatorium. Richie Hyden had two assists for the Bison, who had four different goal-scorers in the game.
Navy (17-5, 4-1 CWPA Southern Division) took control of the game in the first quarter, outscoring Bucknell 4-0 on two goals apiece by Stevie Ray and Jackson Hummeldorf. Luke Baldwin made it 5-0 with a breakaway goal three minutes into the second period before the Bison got on the board on a Beau Caillouette tally.
Paul Reamey scored off a Mike Kimble assist with 1:57 left in the half to pull the Bison within 5-2, but Navy scored a big goal on a buzzer-beater by Darren McKay to go up 6-2 at the half.
Howie Kalter and Alex Nowlin scored second-half goals for the Bison (7-10, 0-6 CWPA Southern Division). Navy outshot Bucknell 26-22, led by Hummeldorf's 10 attempts and four goals. Hyden took five shots and Reamey four to lead Bucknell. Sean Coghlan was a factor in the middle, drawing five ejections.
Bucknell used two goalkeepers in the game. Matt Napleton played the first half and made six saves, and then Miles Gilhuly came on in the second half and recorded four stops while allowing only three goals.
The Bison will be back in action at 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening against George Washington.
