Bucknell Men's Water Polo Returns Home for Four League Games this Weekend, Friday and Sunday Contests to Air on Bison Vision

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's water polo team will return home this weekend for the first time since mid-September when it hosts four league opponents – Johns Hopkins, No. 18 Navy, George Washington and No. 17 Princeton – at Kinney Natatorium. The Bison, who are 7-8 overall and 0-4 in league play, will be looking to halt a six-game losing streak.
Friday's 8 p.m. contest against Johns Hopkins and Sunday's 1 p.m. game against nationally ranked Princeton will air live on Bison Vision. Bucknell will take on Navy (12 p.m.) and George Washington (5:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
Bucknell Men's Water Polo Notebook (7-8, 0-4 CWPA)
• Bucknell has recently played each of this weekend's opponents in league games. The Bison lost each of the four games. Bucknell was outscored by a total of just eight goals in those contests, with the largest margin of defeat being three goals.
• Bucknell is 1-5 this season against this weekend's opponents. The Bison defeated George Washington (21-3) and lost to Princeton (9-6) in non-league play at the ECAC Championship.
• After playing just one game in a 19-day stretch, Bucknell will take to the pool four times in a 41-hour span this weekend.
• Bucknell owns a 39-21 all-time record at Kinney Natatorium, including a 3-1 mark this year. The Bison last lost a league home game in 2008.
• Senior Richie Hyden tallied one goal and one assist last Saturday at Princeton, boosting his career point total to 354, moving him to within one of seventh-place Kevin Permisohn on the program's all-time list. Hyden's assist vs. the Tigers did tie him for seventh on the career assists list with Scott Mutschler with 141. He also stands eighth on the all-time goals list with 213.
• Howie Kalter enters the weekend one point shy of 200 in his career. He has posted 10 multi-point outings this season and will likely become the second current Bison with 200 career points, joining Hyden (354).
• Miles Gilhuly and Matt Napleton continue to split time in goal for the Bison. Since the opening four-game weekend at the Navy Open, which Napleton missed, Gilhuly has played 192 minutes, while Napleton has seen 160 minutes of action. Overall, Gilhuly has 74 saves this year, while Napleton has stopped a career-high 35 shots.
• Hyden enters the weekend with 98 career starts. He will likely become just the fourth player to appear in the starting lineup at least 100 times, joining Aaron Platshon (118), Brad Roslyn (112) and Jason Rechel (101).
• Bucknell's opponents have been scoring at a consistent pace this season. Opponents have scored 31 goals in the first quarter, 32 in the second, 30 in the third and 32 in the fourth for a total of 125 scores. The Bison have netted 195 goals.
• Bucknell has failed to reach double digits in goals in five of its six recent losses. The Bison are 1-15 in their last 16 games they have netted fewer than 10 goals and they are 53-3 in their last 56 contests where they have reached double figures.

About Johns Hopkins (Friday at 8 p.m.; Bison Vision Broadcast)
• Bucknell leads the all-time series 36-17.
• Johns Hopkins won the first meeting this year, 13-12, on Sept. 24.
• Bucknell holds a 12-4 advantage since the beginning of 2006.
• Johns Hopkins went 2-2 at the Claremont Convergence in California last weekend.
• Johns Hopkins is 9-9 overall and 1-2 in CWPA Southern Division play this year.
About Navy (Saturday at 12 p.m.)
• Navy leads the all-time series 73-14.
• Navy won the first meeting this year, 10-9, on Sept. 25.
• Bucknell snapped a 16-game losing streak in the series with a 12-11 victory at Kinney Natatorium last October.
• Navy, which is ranked 18th nationally, is 16-5 overall and 3-1 in CWPA Southern Division play this year. All five of the Mids' losses were to ranked foes.
About George Washington (Saturday at 5:30 p.m.)
• Bucknell leads the all-time series 37-12.
• Bucknell and George Washington have split two meetings this year. The Bison won 21-3 at the ECAC Championship and then the Colonials posted a 10-7 league victory one week later.
• George Washington is 6-13 overall and 1-2 in CWPA Southern Division play. The Colonials have lost five of their last six games and recently returned from a trip to California.
About Princeton (Sunday at 1 p.m.; Bison Vision Broadcast)
• Princeton leads the all-time series 39-29.
• Princeton won the first two meetings this year. The Tigers posted a 9-6 victory in the third-place game at the ECAC Championship and they won 7-4 last weekend in a league matchup.
• Princeton holds an 8-6 edge in 14 meetings dating back to September 2007.
• Princeton posted a 22-1 record vs. Bucknell, including a 17-game winning streak, from 1998 to 2005.
• Princeton won the 2009 season series 3-1.
• Princeton is ranked No. 17 nationally.
• Princeton is 10-5 overall and tops the CWPA Southern Division standings with a 4-0 league mark.
