Bison Pop Solid Marks at ECAC/IC4A Championship Meet

PRINCETON, N.J.— On the second day of action at the IC4A/ECAC Track and Field Championships, hosted by Princeton, Bucknell logged solid individual performances. Saturday concluded with the Bison men not scoring yet and the women tied for 23rd place with four points.
For the Bison relay teams, the men's 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of senior, school-record holder in the indoor 400, senior Kerry Boyle, junior Clement Gyan, freshman Dan Mularz and sophomore John Picardo, recorded the fifth-fastest time in Bucknell history, with their time of 3 minutes, 15.59 seconds. The Bison finished 15th overall with a total of 26 teams competing.
“Our men's 4x400 team ran well,” Bison head coach Kevin Donner said. “It was good to see Boyle back in form again and he ended his career on a high note.”
In the 400 hurdles, freshman Robert Arent placed 21st overall in the 36-runner field, running his second-best ever time, clocking 53.99 seconds.
“I was very pleased with Arent in the 400 hurdles, “Donner said. “He has a great future in front of him.”
The Bison women were lead by junior Chelsey Musante who placed 11th in the hammer throw with a 170 foot toss, out of the 26-women field. Musante and freshman Sarah Bella, who placed 23rd in the discus throw, will be back in the shot put Sunday at 1 p.m. In her last time out, at the Patriot League championships, Bella broke the school record with her 45-7 ¼ toss and Musante moved into fourth place in Bucknell history with her 44-8 mark.
On the track, senior Megan Hathaway took 20th overall with her 2:13.36 clocking in the 800. Freshman Stephanie Fulmer continued her impressive freshman campaign with a 26th-place finish in the 1,500, where she crossed the line in 4:40.65.
In Bucknell's 4x400 relay the Bison squeaked under the four-minute mark with their 3:59.20 performance with their team consisting of Hathaway, and juniors Stephanie Evans, Jennifer Pierce and Kalle James-Wintjen.
The last day of IC4A/ECAC action kicks off at 10 a.m. tomorrow with the men's high jump and shot put. The women's events will begin with the at 10:30 a.m. javelin throw.
