NORMAN, Okla. -- Sophomore Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) closed with a 77 to help the Bucknell women's golf team shoot 327 on Monday at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic, hosted by Oklahoma. The team's finishing score was much improved over the first two rounds, when the Bison posted 347 and 344 on Sunday.
Jurenovich's second-round 84 was the team's best score of the first 36 holes, but on Monday three players bettered that margin. While Jurenovich herself equaled her season-best score with the 77, Kelsey Meybin (Midlothian, Va./Saint Gertrude) finished with an 81 and Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) shot 82.
Also for the Bison, Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) shot 86 and Deirdre Moran (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) posted an 89.
With a tournament-best 306 on Monday, Baylor came from behind to defeat host Oklahoma by three strokes. Oral Roberts, Kansas and Arkansas-Little Rock rounded out the top five, while Bucknell finished 14th.
With rounds of 77-75-73, Kendall Dye of the Sooners won the individual title by four shots over teammate Ellen Mueller.
Bucknell returns to action on Apr. 13-15 at the Big South Championship at The Patriot at Grand Harbor in Ninety-Six, S.C. The Bison will be looking to better last year's best-ever fourth-place finish at the Big South tourney.
