LEWISBURG, Pa. - For the first time in the six-year history of the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Tournament, Bucknell has earned the right to host the four-team event after posting a perfect 6-0 record in league play this spring. The Bison, who clinched the No. 1 seed by defeating 13th-ranked Colgate 19-11 on the road over the weekend, will face fourth-seeded Army in one semifinal matchup at 3 p.m. this Friday, while second-seeded Colgate will face third-seeded Navy in the other semifinal contest at 5:45 p.m. The winners will meet in the championship game on Sunday at 3 p.m.
All three Patriot League Tournament games will be televised live by CBS College Sports. The network is available in all markets on cable and satellite systems across the country, including Cablevision, Comcast, Cox, Insight, Time Warner, Verizon FIOS, among others, and on DirecTV (channel 613) and DISH Network (channel 152) satellite systems.
The CBS College Sports feed will also be available to annual subscribers on Bison Vision via BucknellBison.com. Monthly Bison Vision subscribers can view the tournament for a cost of $7.95.
Tickets to the tournament will be on sale at the Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium ticket windows 90 minutes prior to game time on both Friday and Sunday. Semifinal tickets cost $5 for adults and $2 for children under 16, and tickets are good for both games. Championship-game tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children under 16.
For all games, students at the participating schools are admitted free with student ID. Please note that all seating will be general admission on the East side of Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
Three of the four teams in the tournament are nationally ranked last week. According to the USILA Coaches' Poll, Navy is No. 11, Bucknell No. 15 and Colgate No. 17.
Bucknell finished 6-0 in Patriot League play, while Colgate was 5-1, Navy 4-2 and Army 2-4. During the regular season, Bucknell was an 8-6 winner over the Black Knights, who got into the tournament on a goal-differential tiebreaker. Colgate defeated Navy 10-9 in their regular-season matchup.
The Patriot League Tournament champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Bucknell's only NCAA appearance came in 2001.
