BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Nicholas Hruch (Sykesville, Md./Liberty), junior Ryan White (Elkins Park, Pa./Father Judge) and junior Chelsey Musante (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) earned All-East honors on Sunday as the IC4A and ECAC Championships wrapped up in Boston. Hruch tied for third place in the high jump, White was seventh in the heptathlon, while Musante placed in her second event of the meet with a fifth in the weight throw.
Hruch cleared 6 feet, 10 1/4 inches in the IC4A high jump, bettering his previous career best by two inches. He is now tied with teammate Drew Fitzgerald (Ballston Spa, Pa./Ballston Spa) for second on Bucknell's career list in that event and is closing in on the 27-year-old program record (6-10 3/4 by Ted Lewis in 1982).
Hruch tied for third with Connecticut's Ellis Gaulden, trailing only Morgan State's James Blocker and Dean Brown of St. Francis (N.Y.), who both jumped 7-0 1/4.
Fitzgerald, who was seventh at the indoor IC4A's last year, tied for 10th place on Sunday with a leap of 6-8 1/4. Freshman Andrew Powell (Charlton, Mass./St. John's) cleared that height as well, and finished in a tie for 13th. Powell equalled his career high, which is tied for seventh on Bucknell's all-time list.
White finished with a score of 4,846 points in the heptathlon, good for seventh place. He edged Cornell's Alex Holcombe for the No. 7 spot by just 11 points.
After finishing seventh in the shot put on Saturday, Musante was fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 56-4 3/4. That mark is just four inches under her own personal record, which ranks her No. 2 all-time in that event at Bucknell.
Musante, who won the weight throw and took second in the shot put at the Patriot League Championships two weeks ago, became Bucknell's first All-East performer in the women's shot put, and she is the first Bison woman to score in two individual events at the ECAC Indoor Championships.
Also for the women, sophomore Rebecca Frey (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) placed ninth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 12-1 1/2. That ties her career best, which ranks No. 3 on Bucknell's all-time performance list.
For the men, junior Andrew Yehl (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) ran in the semifinals of the 55-meter high hurdles on Sunday. He placed 12th in 7.65 seconds. Yehl shaved his PR by a hundredth of a second for the second straight day, keeping him at No. 3 on the school's career chart.
Junior Kyle Anthony (Barryville, N.Y./Eldred Central) was 12th in the triple jump at 47-11 1/4. Junior Timothy Medlock (Evan Mills, N.Y./Indian River) placed 15th in the shot put with a mark of 51-3.
