
Bucknell Women's Tennis Falls to Barry, 6-3

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Bucknell women's tennis team ran into the No. 15-ranked team in Division II and fell to Barry by a 6-3 margin. Ashley Globerman (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown) had a hand in two victories for the Bison, who fell to 7-4 on the season.
The match was played under the Division II nine-point scoring rules, and the Bison picked up points at No. 2 doubles and 4 and 5 singles. Globerman teamed with Carlin Calcaterra (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) for an 8-1 win over Caroline Wendling and Mei-Jing Ang in the middle doubles match.
Globerman also won a three-set singles match from Laime Contreras, winning 6-0 in the third set. Lauren Rottkamp (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) routed Ang 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 to remain unbeaten in singles this season.
At No. 1 singles, Lauren Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's School For Girls) extended Angie Werschel to three sets before falling.
The Bison are back in action on Thursday against Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale.
