LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's water polo senior captain Aubrey Rowe (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was named the CWPA Southern Division Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday, following a weekend at the Princeton Invitational where she registered 11 goals, 11 assists, 13 steals and drew eight ejections. Rowe, who has now been recognized by the CWPA twice this season, shared the honor with Maryland goalie Ashleigh Jobson.
One of three Bison to start all 11 games this season, Rowe posted three games with at least three goals and four multiple-steal games as she helped Bucknell to a 3-1 record at the Princeton Invitational. Among Rowe's most impressive performances came Sunday afternoon in a tight 14-13 victory over Harvard when she tallied four goals, two assists, four steals and drew four ejections. She also posted a seven-point outing against Marist with three goals and four assists.
Thanks to her impressive weekend performance, Rowe moved up to third on Bucknell's career goals (166) and career points (269) lists. She also eclipsed the 100-assist plateau for her career and currently has 103. Rowe is also just one steal behind Meg Blitzer, who owns the program career record with 199.
This year, Rowe is first on the Bison with 20 assists and 39 points. Her 19 goals rank third on the squad.
Bucknell (6-5, 0-1 CWPA) has now played four weekends this season and has claimed the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week three times. Two Bison have also earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Bucknell will play its first home games of the year this weekend when it hosts the Elite Six Invitational. The Bison will face Harvard on Saturday at 6 p.m., while on Sunday they will go up against Michigan (11 a.m.) and Hartwick (3:30 p.m.).
