Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships Kick Off with Multi Events

Annapolis, Md. - The Patriot League Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships kicked off Navy's Welsey A. Brown Field House Friday afternoon Annapolis, Md., with three Bison men in the top five spots in the heptathlon, with four events remaining and two women finishing in the top 10.
Bison junior Ryan White (Elkins Park, Pa./Father Judge) won the shot put and the 60-meter dash to place second behind Lehigh's Edwin Schuch overall on the men's side after the conclusion of day one. Freshman Andrew Powell (Charlton, Mass./St. John's) and junior Thomas Vogler (Oneonta, N.Y./Oneonta) placed third and fifth, respectively, overall to round out the Bucknell day-one athletes.
The women's multi-event concluded with Bison sophomore Kristin Bretscher (Farmingville, N.Y./Centereach) placing seventh overall with 2959 points, senior Rebecca Eppleman (Chester Springs, Pa./Great Valley) placing ninth with 2768, and sophomore Erin Rafferty (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem High School North) placing 13th with 2344. Holy Cross' Olivia Pruszko won the event with 3432 points.
Competition continues Saturday with the heptathlon beginning at 8:45 a.m.
