LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's lacrosse team had 10 student-athletes earn spots on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, it was announced Thursday. The Bison had a pair of players – Alyssa DeLorenz and Christina Garman – achieve 4.0 grade-point averages.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's six winter or 10 spring championship sports.
DeLorenz and Garman were two of just four women's lacrosse players in the Patriot League to post 4.0 GPAs. Seven of the Bison who earned Honor Roll recognition posted GPAs of at least 3.5, which qualified them for the Dean's List.
Lafayette led the league with 18 student-athletes on the Honor Roll, while Holy Cross was second with 14. American and Colgate tied for third with 13 apiece. Bucknell and Lehigh each had 10 selections, while Navy rounded out the list with five.
The Bucknell men's lacrosse team was successful on the field in 2008 as well, advancing to the Patriot League championship game for the first time in program history.
