LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell baseball freshman left-hander Eric Jarrett (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) was named Patriot League Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. The honor, which is the first for Jarrett, marks the second time this season the Bison have been recognized with a weekly award.
Making his second career start this past Sunday, Jarrett pitched eight scoreless innings in an 8-3 win over IPFW to improve to 2-1 on the season. He held the Mastodons to just four hits and struck out six.
Jarrett currently ranks second in the Patriot League with a 1.23 ERA, allowing just two earned runs in 14.2 innings of work. He has held opposing hitters to a league-low .160 batting average and has nine strikeouts on the season.
Bucknell (5-3-2) will return to action tomorrow, Mar. 12, with a game against Illinois State at 11:30 a.m. on IMG Field in Bradenton, Fla.
