Jurenovich Leads Bison Women's Golfers on Day 2 at Pinehurst

PINEHURST, N.C. -- Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) fired a team-best 79 on Monday in the second round of the Pinehurst Challenge, but Bucknell's team score went up by seven strokes and the Bison slipped into a tie for 20th place.
Facing one of the toughest fields in program history, and doing it on the famed Pinehurst No. 8 course, the Bison shot 335 on Monday. With the final 18 holes still to come on Tuesday, Bucknell is tied for 20th alongside Big South foe Charleston Southern.
After opening with a 307, East Tennessee State shot 304 on Monday to keep a four-shot lead over East Carolina. The Pirates had the round of the day with a 302. ETSU's Laura Jansone (76-72) and College of Charleston's Steffi Kirchmayr (73-75) are tied for the individual lead, with three players one shot back.
Emily Chiodo (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg), who led Bucknell with an opening-round 79, shot 86 in round two. Deirdre Moran (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) posted her second straight 83. Amy Loughney (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) carded an 87, and Kristin Phalen (Duxbury, Mass./Tabor Academy) shot 92.
