Bucknell Women's Water Polo Earns No. 1 Seed at ECAC Championship

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Kinney Natatorium will be the site of this weekend's ECAC Championship and the host Bucknell women's water polo team will be the top seed, it was announced Monday. The Bison will face eighth-seeded Slippery Rock in their first game of the two-day event.
Bucknell will face either fourth-seeded Mercyhurst or fifth-seeded Wagner in its second game Saturday. The championship game will take place Sunday at 12 p.m. A total of eight teams are in the field.
The Bison, who are ranked 19th nationally, will enter the weekend with a 10-2 record, equaling the second-best start in program history. They won all three games at the Maryland Invitational this past weekend, outscoring their three opponents by a combined 45-16.
Bucknell has finished among the top three teams at the ECAC Championship each of the last two years, but has never won the trophy.
