LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell cross country runner Stephanie Fulmer (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X) was named Damon's Bison Athlete of the Week, on Monday, Nov. 3, following her performance at Saturday's Patriot League Championships. Fulmer finished second overall at the meet, running the 6K race in 21 minutes, 28.7 seconds, just 5.2 seconds behind Navy junior Amy Watson. The Bison placed second overall at the meet, behind preseason favorite Navy, and Fulmer was named Rookie of the Meet and First Team All-Patriot League for her efforts.
It is the second time this year that Fulmer has been named Damon's Bison Athlete of the Week. Fulmer received that honor, along with Patriot League Rookie of the Week, after placing 55th out of 301 runners at the 35th Annual Lehigh University Brooks Paul Short Run on Friday, Oct. 3. On Sept. 23, Fulmer received Patriot League Female Runner of the Week accolades. That was for her 5th place finish at the 5K Buffalo Stampede on Sept. 20.
Fulmer was also the top-performer for the Bison at the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 18, placing fourth out of 137 runners. She was fifth at the Bison Open and 10th in the Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational, placing second and third among Bucknell runners, respectively.
The Orange and Blue will next compete on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in Princeton, N.J.
