Bucknell Wrestling Intrasquad Match Slated for Oct. 30

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell wrestling team will be hosting its annual intrasquad match on Thursday, Oct. 30, inside Davis Gym. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be open to the public. The Bison wrestlers will compete in a live-match situation for the first time with the season opener just 17 days later.
The 10 wrestlers who won bouts at last year's intrasquad match combined to post a 170-121 record in 2007-08 and they accounted for nearly 60 percent of the team's individual victories.
In addition to preparing for the intrasquad wrestle-offs, the Bison have their eyes set on their Nov. 16 season opener with Missouri at Davis Gym. Prior to that 1 p.m. match the wrestling program will host an Alumni and Friends Social at 10 a.m. Lunch and beverages will be provided.
Also prior to the Bucknell-Missouri match, 2008 Olympian and two-time national champion Ben Askren will conduct a free clinic that is open to the public.
