Freshman Steven Pierce Honored by the ECAC

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Freshman Steven Pierce (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) of the Bucknell outdoor men's track and field team was honored by the ECAC as the Field Athlete of the Week for his strong showing at the Bison Outdoor Classic, this past weekend.
Pierce, who was named the Patriot League Male Performer of the Week, on Tuesday, threw for an NCAA East Regional and IC4A qualifying mark in the javelin with a distance of 216 feet, 9 inches (66.08m). His mark ranks him second all-time at Bucknell and first in the Patriot League. The Ridgewood, N.J., native, has also been named the Male Rookie of the Week twice by the Patriot League this season.
Pierce and the Bison will host the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday, Apr. 21, at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The meet will start at 10 a.m. with the men's triple jump.
