Bucknell Places 245 Student-Athletes on University's 2006 Fall Semester Dean's List and 119 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Two-hundred forty-five Bucknell University student-athletes have earned Dean's List honors for the 2006 fall semester. Students must earn at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for selection to the Dean's List.
Included among the student-athletes on the Dean's List last semester were 33 team captains and 23 student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 averages.
In addition, 119 fall sport student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll this past semester. To earn Honor Roll recognition, a student-athlete must earn a varsity letter and achieve a grade-point average of 3.20 or better during the semester of competition.
Captains named to the Dean's List included: Kat Allen (women's track & field), Caitlin Baffa (women's tennis), Matthew Bonelli (men's track & field), Lauren Bricker (women's cross country/track & field), Melanie Buczko (women's track & field), Callista Costopoulos (field hockey), Shannon Curd (women's soccer), Matt Curry (baseball), Brian Gargan (men's lacrosse), Ashley Globerman (women's tennis), Laura Goeller (women's swimming & diving), Monica Grinage (softball), Amanda Grossmann (volleyball), Ryan Gryskevicz (baseball), Lindsey Hollobaugh (women's basketball), Jennifer James (softball), Joshua Kaehler (men's track & field), Lauren Kremer (field hockey), Andrew Loia (men's soccer), Nathan Mittag (baseball), Kyle Moran (men's golf), Katherine Munson (women's swimming & diving), Ira Reibeisen (men's tennis), Nina Reinhardt (women's track & field), Teri Schlang (women's golf), Jennie Smith (volleyball), Paul Stansik (men's lacrosse), Mallory Sullivan (women's water polo), Kristen Sydlowski (volleyball), Katie Urosevich (field hockey), Charlie Waddell (men's golf), Shauna Weinstein (field hockey) and Ben Young (men's tennis).
Twenty-three of Bucknell's varsity sport programs achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2006 fall semester. The men's golf team led all men's sports with a 3.35 semester GPA, while the volleyball squad posted the highest GPA of all of BU's sports with a 3.47 team average.
Bucknell (enrollment 3,350) competes in NCAA Division I as a member of the Patriot League.
