LEWISBURG, Pa. - Due to possible inclement weather on Sunday, the Bucknell baseball team will now play its weekend series at Virginia in two days instead of three. As scheduled, the Bison will take on the nationally-ranked Cavaliers on Friday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m., on Devenport Field. The series will conclude the following day as Sunday's contest has been moved up and the squads will play a doubleheader, consisting of two nine-inning games, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24.
Virginia, who is ranked seventh in the latest Baseball America national poll, currently holds a record of 7-1, and has won its last five in a row. Bucknell is 0-1 on the season following a 10-2 setback to VMI in its first game of the year this past Tuesday.
Following this weekend's action, the Bison are scheduled to make their 2007 home debut next weekend, Mar. 3-4, with a four-game slate against Cornell. The squad will continue its homestand on Mar. 9-10, with three contests against Niagara.
