LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell baseball team will wait a few more days before opening the 2007 season as poor field conditions at VMI's Gray-Minor Stadium have forced the cancellation of the weekend series between the Bison and the Keydets, originally scheduled for Feb. 16-18. Instead, the Orange and Blue will travel to Lexington, Va., next Tuesday, Feb. 20, for a single game against VMI at 3 p.m.
Bucknell, which finished the 2006 season as Patriot League regular season co-champion and tournament runner-up, was picked fourth in the 2007 Patriot League preseason poll with one first place vote, just four points out of second with 30. Following their mid-week game with the Keydets, the Bison will spend next weekend in Charlottesville, Va., where they will take on Virginia in three contests, with the first slated for Friday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m.
