LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's cross country teams are set to run at the Patriot League Championships this Saturday at Lafayette. The men's race (8K) is slated to begin at 11 a.m. and the women's race (6K) will follow at 12 p.m. The Bison had this past weekend off and most recently ran at the Lafayette Leopard Invitational, on the same course as this weekend's race. Up-to-date information concerning this weekend's meet can be found at the Patriot League Cross Country Championship webpage.
As the Bison women look to defend their title as Patriot League champions, head coach Kevin Donner notes that "It looks to be a very tight meet with Navy, Colgate and ourselves. It is great to see a few teams battle for a championship."
The Bison men finished in third place at last year's Patriot League Championships. Donner feels that "Navy has been running great all year and American is the five-time defending champions with great front runners. Army and Bucknell seem to be the dark horses along with an improving Lehigh. The course is a great pure cross country course and I believe the second loop will make or break the race for many runners."
