LEWISBURG, Pa. - On Sunday, October 21, 25 former Bison baseball players, spanning 60 years (1947 to 2007), enjoyed a simply gorgeous fall afternoon and a competitive game of baseball at Bucknell University's Depew Field. The squads were divided by even and odd graduation years, with the odd year alums defeating the evens by a score of 7-3.
There was quality pitching on both sides with lefties RJ Grant, Tim Peacock, and Dave Scranton throwing for the odds while righties Kevin Miller, Ian Rainey, Phil Futrick and Jon Black threw for the evens. Solid defense most of the game was highlighted by a diving catch in center field by current Bucknell men's basketball coach Pat Flannery.
A number of guys looked like they were still going to the batting cage daily as multiple hits were recorded by Dustin Kapson, Brian Day, Tim Peacock, Dave Scranton, Matt Belmont, Ian Rainey, and Ben Stoll. The Bucknell Baseball staff and current team members were extremely grateful to all of the former players who came back for the event. They included:
