Bucknell Indoor Track and Field Accolades From Patriot League

LEWISBURG, Pa - Senior Tyler Hoffman (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg), classmate Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) and freshman Kalle James-Wintjen (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) of the Bucknell indoor track and field teams were honored by the Patriot League Tuesday for their performances in the Bucknell Heptagonal this past weekend in Gerhard Fieldhouses.
Hoffman, who was named the Male Field Performer of the Week, won his second consecutive 35-lb weight throw competition after tossing a length of 61 feet, 1 ½ inches (18.63m), which was a personal best and an IC4A Championship qualifying mark.
Grap was named the Female Field Performer of the Week for the third time this season. The senior launched a NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 62-7 ¾ (19.09m) in the 20-lb weight throw. Her distance was also a ECAC Championship standard.
James-Wintjen was tabbed the Female Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.21 seconds. The Lewisburg, Pa., native was part of a quartet that finished third in the 4x400 with a time of 4:04.38. She also placed seventh in the 55, crossing the line with a time of 7.50.
The Bucknell indoor track and field teams will compete in the two-day Bison Open and Multi starting on Friday, Jan. 26, in the Gerhard Fieldhouse at 4 p.m. A few Bison athletes will also participate in the Penn State National Invitational at 1:30 p.m. in University Park, Pa.
