Patriot League Honors Two Bucknell Cross Country Performers

LEWISBURG, Pa - Today, the Patriot League announced that Conor McNamara (Baldwin, N.Y./Chaminade) and Molly Burke (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hastings) were named Patriot League Runners of the Week for their individual performances in the Lion Invitational Saturday, Sept. 23, at Penn State-Altoona in Altoona, Pa.
In his second collegiate race, McNamara ran a team best 26 minutes 4 seconds, which was good for sixth place out of 58 runners in the invitational. Behind a strong effort from McNamara, the Bucknell men's cross country team finished second with 53 points, just four points behind Robert Morris with 49 points.
In Burke's third race of the season, she finished first on the team with a time of 20:56, which was good for fourth place out of 67 runners in the invitational. The Bucknell women's cross country squad finished first in the competition with a score of 39 points in front of Robert Morris who finished with 49 points.
The Orange and Blue will be back in action at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday, Sept. 29.
