Keppler Inducted Into Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Hall of Fame

LANCASTER, Pa. - Bucknell assistant athletic director and head athletic trainer Mark Keppler was recently inducted into the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Hall of Fame in a ceremony that took place at the 26th Convention and Symposia of the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society (PATS), held in Lancaster, Pa. Keppler entered the 31-member hall of fame along with Robert H. Shank of Dickinson College and David M. Joyner, MD of Penn State as a part of the Class of 2006.
"I am humbled that the athletic trainers in the state of Pennsylvania singled me out for this prestigious award," said Keppler.
Keppler, now entering his 21st year as head athletic trainer for the Bison, served as the sixth president of PATS from 1982-84 and was instrumental in the pioneering of the licensing of athletic trainers in the state of Pennsylvania. He currently oversees the athletic training and sports medicine program for Bucknell and previously spent 11 years as the head trainer at Carnegie Mellon University.
Keppler is a 1973 graduate of Florida State University and holds a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Athletic Training Advisory Commission to the State Board of Physical Therapy from 1984-97.
