Day Two is Over for Bison Track and Field

PRINCETON, N.J. - The second of three days of competition at the 2006 Outdoor ECAC/IC4A Championships finished up early Saturday evening at the William Weaver Track and Field Stadium in Princeton, N.J. Three Bison finished in third-place or better, while one advanced to Sunday's finals.
Senior Dan Frake (Northport, N.Y./Northport) finished third in the hammer throw, with a personal high of 200 feet, 2 inches. Junior Melanie Buczko (Butler, Pa./Butler) turned in her third-highest mark of the season in the pole vault with a second-place leap of 12-9 1/2. Classmate Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) finished third in the women's hammer with a heave of 180-1.
Qualifying for Sunday's finals was junior Christa Sawko (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) in the 800-meter run. She clocked in a time of 2 minutes, 11.51 seconds, placing third in the preliminaries.
In other results, junior Nina Reinhardt (Northport, N.Y./Northport) took a ninth-place finish in the women's heptathlon, scoring a personal high of 4484 points. Fellow junior Catherine Trentacoste (Garden City, N.Y/Garden City) finished the 100-hurdles in 13th place in the preliminaries in 14.67. In the semifinals, Trentacoste finished in 14.25, in ninth place, just missing qualifying for finals by .13.
Sunday's action will open up with junior Josh Kaehler (Hanover, Pa./South Western) in the men's javelin at 10:30 a.m., followed by Frake in the shot put. Junior Ann Doty (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney) will be jumping in the ECAC triple jump at 11 a.m., with Sawko closing out Bucknell action in the 800 finals at 1:35 p.m.
