LEESBURG, Va. -- Bucknell's Amy Loughney (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) couldn't quite repeat her terrific opening round, but she still managed her second top-10 finish in three spring tournaments, and the Bison finished up in ninth place Sunday at the Georgetown Invitational.
Loughney, who shot a career-best 75 in Saturday's first round, carded an 82 on Sunday to finish alone in ninth place. Earlier this spring, Loughney placed second at The Shamrock.
Emily Chiodo (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) also shot 82 in the second round, while Deirdre Moran (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) shot 84 and Teri Schlang (Albany, N.Y./Stratton Mountain School) finished with an 85. Schlang and Chiodo tied for 40th place with a 36-hole score of 168. Bucknell's second-round team score was 333 after an opening-round 329.
Host Georgetown shot 302 on Sunday, 612 overall, and cruised to a 17-stroke victory over Yale. Elsewhere in the top 10, Princeton was third at 632, followed by Columbia at 637, Gonzaga at 644, St. John's at 646, Harvard at 654, Bethune-Cookman at 657, Bucknell at 662 and Boston College at 666.
Georgetown's Christy Larrimore shot a 2-under-par 70 in the final round to win the individual title by 10 shots. Sharla Cloutier of Princeton, Sara Ovadia of Columbia and January Romero of Yale tied for second.
The Bison will now have a little over a week to prepare for the Big South Championship, which will be played April 10-12 in Mobile, Ala.
