Curry Picks up Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week Honor

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior pitcher Matt Curry (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) of Bucknell's baseball team, was named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon, after producing a fantastic outing on the mound against Army on Sunday, helping the Orange and Blue to a 3-0 finish on the week.
Against the Black Knights, Curry carried his team to a 4-0 victory, giving the Bison their fourth-straight win, allowing just two base hits and two walks, while striking out six in seven complete innings pitched. In total, Army hitters produced a batting average of just .091 against the right-handed hurler.
On the season, Curry holds an ERA of 2.95, in 39.2 innings pitched, a win-loss record of 2-5, in seven total appearances.
The Bison are currently on a six-game hot streak, including a recent four-game sweep against Patriot League powerhouse, Army.
Bucknell (13-17, 5-3 PL) is next scheduled to battle Towson, Wednesday afternoon at 3, in Towson, Md. League action will resume on Friday, April 14, in Easton, Pa., in a double-header against Lafayette starting at 1 p.m.
