LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior midfielder Emily Burman (Kensington, Md./Stone Ridge) was named the Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday evening in recognition of her outstanding play in a pair of Bison wins to start the season.
Burman led Bucknell to a 2-0 start by scoring five goals and two assists in come-from-behind wins over Binghamton and Davidson last week. She scored three times in the 10-8 win over Binghamton, and she added two goals and two assists against Davidson in a 14-12 nailbiter. Her goal with 3:39 left in the Davidson game gave Bucknell a 13-11 lead and held-up as the game-winner.
A four-year starter, Burman leads the 2-1 Bison in goals (10) and points (12). She topped the 50-goal plateau for her career on Saturday against Davidson. Burman will lead her team back into action on Thursday night at Lafayette in the first Patriot League contest of the season.
