LEWISBURG, Pa. - Center Chris McNaughton (Leutershausen, Germany/Dientzenhofer Gymnasium), the leading scorer on Bucknell's 21-4 men's basketball team, has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 3 Second Team.
Selected and voted upon by member coaches of the NABC, McNaughton is one of 150 student-athletes from 15 districts now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America Teams, which will be announced at the end of the season.
McNaughton joined some elite company on the District 3 team. Named to the first team were Villanova's Randy Foye and Allen Ray, Pittsburgh's Carl Krauser, LaSalle's Steve Smith and Rutgers' Quincy Douby. On the second team are McNaughton, Temple's Mardy Collins, St. Peter's Keydren Clark, Pitt's Aaron Gray and Seton Hall's Kelly Whitney.
McNaughton is averaging 12.9 points per game for the Bison, who were ranked 24th in the nation last week before suffering a tough 65-61 double-overtime loss at Northern Iowa. McNaughton leads the Patriot League in field-goal percentage (.574) and ranks sixth in scoring.
He was recently named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team after being selected as the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2005.
Bucknell is 12-0 in Patriot League play and can clinch the regular-season title with a victory over 11-1 Lehigh on Wednesday night at Sojka Pavilion.
