Bucknell Women's Tennis Evens Out Dual Match Record to 1-1

OLEAN, N.Y. - The Bucknell women's tennis team defeated St. Bonaventure 6-1 on Saturday at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center in Olean, N.Y., to even out its 2006 dual match record to 1-1.
Freshman Paulina Gamboa (Mexico City, Mexico/Greengates) remained undefeated in the No. 3 singles position as she was victorious over Anna Martorell, 6-2, 6-4.
Senior Veronica Brown (Derwood, Md./Col. Zadok Magruder) won at the No. 1 singles position, 6-4, 6-3, and also won her doubles match at the No. 1 position, with Gamboa as her partner, 8-4.
In the No. 2 spot, senior Chelsea Mills (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) won her singles match over Stephanie Fosnight, 6-1, 6-0 and also won her doubles match, partnered with Ashley Globerman, (New York, N.Y./Clarkstown), 8-4, also at the No. 2 position.
Winning her first dual match for Bucknell was freshman Camille Simonetti, who dominated over Jasmine Jaysingh in the No. 6 singles position, 6-1, 6-1.
The Bison women will return to action on March 4, as they host UMBC at the East Branch Racquet Club in Williamsport, Pa., scheduled to begin at noon.
