Bucknell Men's Track and Field in Third-Place after Two Days at Patriot League Championships

2006 Patriot League Championships - Schedule of Events
Bucknell's men's track and field team earned 26 points through two days of competition at the 2006 Patriot League Championships, hosted by Navy in Annapolis, Md., and currently sits in third-place, behind Army with 53 points and Lehigh with 28. Junior Tyler Hoffman (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) collected the Bison's first gold medal of the Championships in the weight throw.
Hoffman has topped the Patriot League all season long in the event and won today's competition with a heave of 56 feet, 10 3/4 inches.

Freshman Ryan Robinson (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) finished second in the high-jump with a personal best leap of 6-7, placing him sixth in the Orange and Blue record books.
Earning a place in Sunday's 200-meter finals was senior Matt Corbetta (Port Chester, N.Y./Port Chester) with a qualifying time of 23.05 seconds.
Also scoring points for the Orange and Blue was senior Dan Frake (Northport, N.Y./Northport) in the weight throw with a fourth-place finish heave of 53-11 3/4, earning a seventh-place ranking in the Bison record books. Junior Matt Forys (Howell, N.J./Howell) finished fifth in the 5000 with a time of 14:50.13, while sophomore Michael Contino (Broomall, Pa./Episcopal Acad.) took sixth in the long jump with a leap of 21-7 1/2.
The 4X800 relay team, comprised of juniors Mark Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) and Adam Syty (East Amherst, N.Y./Clarence) and sophomores James Redmond (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep.) and Brian Mooney (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili), took sixth in the event with a time of 7:47.56.
The three-day championship meet will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 19, with the awards ceremony immediately following the men's 4x400 relay.
