TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - On Monday, seniors Matt Forys (Howell, N.J./Howell) and Leanna Nastase (Beaverdale, Pa./Forest Hills) ended their collegiate careers on a high note at the 2006 NCAA Cross Country Championships on a wet and muddy course on the campus of Indiana State University. Forys posted a 75th-place finish out of 250 runners with a time of 32 minutes, 19 seconds, while Nastase finished with a time of 22:06, which was good for 94th place out of 253.

The senior was the Bison's top runner in every meet that he competed in, including a third-place finish at the Patriot League Championships and a fifth-place showing at the Mid-Atlantic Regional, which qualified him for the NCAA Champioships. Forys also earned spots on the All-Patriot League First Team and the USTFCCCA All-Regional Team.
Nastase posted the third-best showing at the NCAA Championships among Bucknell's female runners that have qualified over the years. The best women's finish was in 2001 when Theresa Dennis claimed a 73rd-place showing. In the 2006 season, Nastase was the Bison's top finisher in five of six races, which included winning the individual title at the Patriot League Championships. She also helped lead the Bison to its second consecutive Patriot League Championship. The senior was also copped first team All-Patriot League honors and was named USTFCCCA All-Regional Team.
