Bucknell Places Second Most in Patriot League on Softball Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell softball team placed 11 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by the league office Tuesday. The 11 Honor Roll members were second to Lehigh's 12 for the most among softball teams.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
Highlighting the Bison honored was the Patriot League Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year Lauren Wible. The first baseman who is an English major with a 3.83 grade-point average was an Academic All-American last year and led the nation in hitting with a .524 batting average.
Elsewhere around the league, Holy Cross had nine Honor Roll members, Army and Lafayette had four each, while Colgate had two. A total of 42 softball players were named to the Honor Roll.
Bucknell paced the Patriot League with 199 total student-athletes earning positions on the Honor Roll.
