Former Bison Kevin Miller to Play Locally With Williamsport Crosscutters

LEWISBURG, Pa. - After spending last season in Bradenton, Fla., former Bison hurler Kevin Miller will make has made his way back to Pennsylvania to play with local minor league club, the Williamsport Crosscutters. The Crosscutters, a Single A short season club in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, will begin the season tomorrow evening as they take on the New Jersey Cardinals in Augusta, N.J. Williamsport's home schedule kicks off on June 27, as the Crosscutters host the Aberdeen IronBirds in New York-Penn League action.
Miller is not the only former Bison continuing his baseball career as Bucknell grads Matt Daley, Eric Junge and Kevin McDowell are also pitching for teams around the country.
Junge, a 1999 Bucknell graduate with major league experience, is having an impressive year on the mound for the Norfolk Tides, a Triple A affiliate of the New York Mets. Junge currently sports a 5-4 record in 11 starts and a 4.72 ERA in 61.0 innings of work. Junge's five victories are tied for the second most on the team. The former Bison has also fanned 52 batters on the season, the second-most of the squad. The Tides are currently in first place in the southern division of the International League at 40-31 on the season.

Junge joined the Tides in late April after a brief stint with the Double A Binghamton Mets of the Eastern League. While in Binghamton, Junge racked up one win and one loss in 13.0 innings pitched.
McDowell, a 2001 alum, is currently throwing for the Lakeland Tigers, a Class A Advanced club in the Detriot Tigers organization. McDowell has posted a 4.33 ERA in 23 games this season, sporting a 1-2 record in 35.1 innings on the mound. The Lakeland squad posts a record of 45-20 on the year to lead the western division of the Florida State League. The club's 45 wins are the most in the League.
Daley, who completed his Bison career in 2004, is now playing for the Asheville Tourists, a Class A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Daley has posted a 6-2 record so far this season, his six wins are the most on the Tourists' roster. Daley also carries a 5.02 ERA in 22 appearances with 43.0 innings under his belt. Daley's Tourists currently stand in fourth in the southern division of the South Atlantic League at 38-31 on the year.
