
Bucknell Women's Tennis Set School Record Winning 17th Match of the Season

NEWARK, Del. - Earning the school record 17th win of the season, the Bison women's tennis team was victorious on Sunday, defeating Delaware 5-2, in Newark, Del. Bucknell finishes the season at 17-5 as Bison senior captains Nada Curcic and Tanya Sichko played in their final dual match.
The Bison took two of three doubles matches, with Curcic and Veronica Brown beating Alexa Dragonette and Susan Pollack, 8-2, at one doubles. At two doubles, Chelsea Mills and Tanya Sichko took out Brittany Barsky and Katie Miller, 8-3. Caitlin Baffa and Rheanna Gaskin dropped their match at three doubles, falling to Liz Perlow and Sari Shuster, 8-4.
In singles action, Curcic won at one singles, beating Pollack, 2-6, 7-6, 11-9. Brown notched a win at two singles, besting Perlow, 6-2, 6-3. Sichko upended Shuster at three singles, 7-5, 7-5. Gaskin grabbed the final Bison point at five singles, defeating Barsky, 6-4, 7-5.
The Bison had an impressive season, highlighted by a second place finish in the Patriot League tournament, the highest showing since Bucknell won the league crown in 1994. Curcic had been virtually unstoppable all season, posting a 16-match winning streak. Curcic and Brown were tough in doubles play, also recording 16-straight wins.
