LEWISBURG, Pa. - Due to heavy rain in the forecast, the Art Gulden memorial dedication events, scheduled to take place in front of Gerhard Fieldhouse, will now be moved inside the Fieldhouse, the Bucknell Department of Athletics and Recreation announced on Friday morning. The event will still begin at 8:30 a.m. as scheduled on Saturday, April 23.
The event is being held to remember Gulden, the late legendary Bucknell cross country and track and field coach. An elegant cast-stone monument depicting Coach Gulden will be placed outside Gerhard Fieldhouse and will be officially unveiled on Saturday.
Following the ceremony, all alumni and friends are invited to join the Gulden family for breakfast in Larison Dining Hall. The cost of the event is $5.00, payable at the door.
The current Bison track and field teams are set to host the Bucknell Five-Way at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Teams participating in the competition will be Bucknell, Duquesne, Lock Haven, Robert Morris, and Rhode Island (men). Field events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., with track events starting at 12 p.m.
